The initial diagnosis was a cartridge replacement for the mix valve for our shower, but upon disassembly, he found that the entire valve assembly was corroded beyond rescue due to our acidic water, so the entire valve had to be replaced. Despite the major surgery, he did the job quickly, graciously, and efficiently, and also alerted us to the larger systemic issue of which we were only peripherally aware--our pH treatment system was empty of the acid-neutralizing calcite, which accelerates pipe corrosion throughout the system. We're really grateful for getting both the repair we knew about and getting the more significant diagnosis about the acid corrosion, and at a fair price. We highly recommend Robert Brodie if you're seeking a professional plumber who will clearly explain things and keep you apprised of the costs when additional labor is unexpectedly required."
